FA's Greg Dyke: 'New president Gianni Infantino will organise FIFA properly'

FA chairman Greg Dyke says that new FIFA president Gianni Infantino will organise the governing body "properly" and will provide structure.

Chairman of the English Football Association Greg Dyke has claimed that Gianni Infantino will make sure that FIFA is "properly organised".

The Swiss UEFA general secretary was elected as FIFA's new leader following a second round of voting in Zurich.

The 45-year-old received 115 votes, while pre-election favourite Sheikh Salman got 88, Prince Ali four and Jerome Champagne zero.

Infantino entered the presidential race after UEFA president Michel Platini was given an eight-year ban, now reduced to six, for accepting an alleged "disloyal" payment from Sepp Blatter in 2011.

Blatter has been FIFA president since 1998, but after widespread allegations of corruption, the Swiss announced last year that he will step down from his role.

When asked for his thoughts on Infantino, Dyke told Sky Sports News: "I think he's very hardworking. I think he'll make sure it's a properly organised and structured place.

"I think he'll find a good chief executive - that's the crucial thing here, finding a good chief executive to run FIFA. I don't think he's a politician whereas we had a politician for many years."

Infantino has been UEFA general secretary since 2009.
