Kaka has insisted that he wants to stay at Real Madrid in order to repay coach Jose Mourinho.
Although the Brazilian midfielder has been linked to a move back to Italy, he said that he wants to stay at the Bernabeu following a season ruined by injury.
“On a personal level, it was the most difficult season of my career,” he told Spanish newspaper AS. “For the team it was okay - we won the Copa del Rey against Barcelona, reached the semi-finals of the Champions League and came second in the league. But that is not enough for a club such as Madrid.
"I had the injury, returned in January, but in March stopped again. I managed to play the last two months but it was hard. When you have an operation, the worst bit is the psychological part, and I can say Mourinho and his coaching staff did a lot in that regard.”
The player, who joined Real from AC Milan in 2009, denied reports that he had been approached to join Inter Milan and stated that he will not be tempted away.
“My desire is to remain at Real Madrid,” he said. “I knew there would be speculation because since arriving in Madrid I have been linked with ten teams. But Mourinho wants me to contiune and I will follow.”
