Barcelona vs. Getafe: Head-to-head record and past meetings

:Headline: Barcelona vs. Getafe: Head-to-head record and past meetings:
Ahead of Wednesday's La Liga clash between Barcelona and Getafe, Sports Mole looks at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two clubs.

Barcelona will attempt to continue their impressive start to the 2024-25 La Liga season when they play host to Getafe on Wednesday.

Hansi Flick's side maintained their 100% record in the league with a statement 5-1 victory over Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica, where Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha registered braces alongside Pablo Torre's first La Liga goal.

While the league leaders will be targeting a seventh successive victory in the top flight, Getafe are still searching for their first win of the season after drawing four and losing two of their six matches.

Here, Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at the head-to-head record and previous meetings between the two sides.

Head-to-head record

Previous meetings: 44
Barcelona wins: 30
Draws: 10
Getafe wins: 4

Barcelona have made a habit of picking up wins against Getafe, having won 75% of their previous 44 head-to-head meetings.

The Blaugrana have amassed 102 goals in their previous encounters with the Azulones, while the Madrid-based team have found the net on 33 occasions.

Barcelona legend Lionel Messi holds the honour of being the all-time leading scorer in this fixture after scoring 21 goals in his 27 matches against Getafe.

The Catalan giants are currently enjoying a seven-game unbeaten run against the Azulones, including a 4-0 win when the two sides last met in February.

On that occasion, Raphinha, Joao Felix, Frenkie de Jong and Fermin Lopez all got on the scoresheet to fire the Blaugrana to a dominant 4-0 win at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.

The Blaugrana have experienced frustration in their recent away meetings, having failed to win on any of their last four trips to the Coliseum.

Getafe began that run of results with a 1-0 victory in October 2020, before holding Barcelona to goalless draws in their previous three matches.

With that in mind, the Blaugrana will be relieved to have home advantage for Wednesday's fixture, especially as they won each of their previous six head-to-head matches in front of their own supporters.

In fact, Barcelona have never lost a competitive home game against Getafe, having won 18 and drawn four of their 22 home encounters.

The last time that Barcelona failed to win a home game against Getafe was in February 2018 when Ernesto Valverde's side was held to a goalless draw at Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Getafe have gone five head-to-head matches without troubling the scorers since Sandro Ramirez found the net in a 2-1 away defeat in August 2021.
