Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger has revealed that the club has started its search for a new manager following Mauricio Pochettino's move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Pochettino signed a five-year contract with Spurs on Tuesday after resigning at St Mary's Stadium.
The 42-year-old, who joined the Saints in January 2013, guided the team to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League table last season.
"We have begun the search for a new high-calibre manager," Krueger told the club's official website. "We will be looking for a manager that shares our values, our principles and our philosophy; a manager who can continue to grow the first team and build on our strong foundation."
Rafael Benitez, Michael Laudrup and Steve McClaren are among the early favourites to succeed Pochettino at Southampton.
