Thirty-six goals were scored in the Premier League this weekend, with four of the ten matches containing at least five goals.
With that in mind, Sports Mole has selected the 11 players that have shone ahead of their peers.
Goalkeeper
Joe Hart (Man City)
They say the sign of a world class goalkeeper is the ability to do nothing for 90 minutes and then pull off a fantastic save. That is exactly what Hart produced for Manchester City at Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon. With his side leading 1-0, Hart thwarted Darren Bent from point-blank range to ensure his side went back to the top of the table.
Defenders
Benoit Assou-Ekotto (Spurs)
Any full-back that finds the net is likely to make it into this team and Assou-Ekotto is no exception. The defender ghosted in at the back post to give his side the lead against Newcastle United on Saturday. He then proceeded to link up with Gareth Bale down Tottenham's left on what was a miserable afternoon for the visiting Magpies.
Jonny Evans (Man United)
Often touted as Manchester United's fifth-choice centre-back, Evans showed just why he is so highly regarded at Old Trafford. The Irishman hardly put a foot wrong defensively against Liverpool, while he also looked comfortable in possession.
Joleon Lescott (Man City)
England international Lescott scored the only goal of the game as Manchester City moved back to the top of the table with a 1-0 victory at Aston Villa. Lescott also carried out his defensive duties with ease, finding himself in the right position to clear any Villa crosses on numerous occasions.
Phil Neville (Everton)
Everton skipper Neville used all his experience and know-how to help the Toffees on their way to victory over Chelsea on Saturday. The veteran defender provided a cool head when those around him appeared to be getting carried away. Also started the move for Everton's second goal with a crunching challenge on Ashley Cole.
Midfielders
James McClean (Sunderland)
He may have ended up on the losing side, but McClean saw his stock rise even higher with Sunderland's goal at the Stadium of Light. The Irish showed great composure to send an effort beyond the reach of Wojciech Szczesny from a narrow angle.
Steven N'Zonzi (Blackburn)
N'Zonzi produced some of the form that he originally showed when he first arrived on English shores. The French midfielder scored one and created another as Rovers claimed an important three points against relegation rivals Queens Park Rangers.
James McArthur (Wigan)
McArthur isn't known for his goalscoring capabilities, but the Scot notched during the second half to score the winner for Wigan at Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon. McArthur's workrate at the Reebok Stadium also saw him receive a number of plaudits.
Jamie Mackie (QPR)
Mackie only played 24 minutes of QPR's 3-2 loss at Blackburn Rovers, but the wide midfielder was credited as one of the main reason's behind his side's late, but unsuccessful comeback. The Scot scored both of QPR's goals, the second of which was an unstoppable effort into the top corner of the net.
Strikers
Peter Odemwingie (West Brom)
The Nigerian's inclusion will raise few eyebrows following his hat-trick during the Black Country derby. Odemwingie was a constant thorn in the side of the Wolves defence as West Brom hit five at Molineux.
Emmanuel Adebayor (Spurs)
He may have only got one of his side's five goals against Newcastle on Saturday, but the Togo striker assisted the other goals. Adebayor's ability to link up with debutant Louis Saha has already got Tottenham fans hoping for a late title push.
