The Dutch Football Association has announced that president Michael van Praag intends to run as a candidate for the FIFA presidency.
A handful of figures from around the footballing world have confirmed their intention to challenge current president Sepp Blatter, including Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein of Jordan and former Newcastle United midfielder David Ginola.
Candidates need the backing of five football federations in order to officially enter the running ahead of the FIFA congress on May 29.
Van Praag, who claims that he has the necessary backing, has been one of Blatter's most vocal opponents in recent years amid claims of widespread corruption within world football's governing body.
Blatter has been president of FIFA since 1998.
