Andre Villas-Boas has admitted that Champions League qualification is Chelsea's aim this season.
The Blues dropped more points in the league last night with a 1-1 draw against Swansea.
The result leaves Chelsea seven points behind Spurs in the race for European qualification, but Villas-Boas has described the gap between the clubs as "nothing". The Portuguese manager's side have picked up just two points in the last two games, against promoted sides Norwich and Swansea.
"A seven point gap is nothing in the Premiership. It is never satisfying only to get a point, but Tottenham are still within our reach and let us see what we can do from here," said Villas-Boas.
"At the moment it makes no sense for me to speak about the league. We are competing for the Champions League and that is our main objective.
"We will face what will probably be the new league leaders, next weekend, and after that game, we can see if the first spot is within our reach or not."
Chelsea face Manchester United in their next Premier League game on Sunday.
