Younousse Sankhare's late strike earned Guingamp a slender 1-0 away win over hosts Nice in Ligue 1 this evening.
Nice almost went ahead in the opening minutes through Valere Germain, although he could not guide his headed effort on target.
Guingamp's Nicolas Benezet sought to deliver from a corner and he soon found an unmarked Jeremy Sorbon, who could only send a header wide of the hosts' goal.
Lionel Mathis attempted to take charge of the game for Guingamp, but his powerful shot was somehow kept out down low by Nice stopper Mouez Hassen.
Guingamp's attack continued to falter after the break, this time as Jimmy Briand sent yet another visiting header off target.
The breakthrough did eventually come, however, when Briand found Sankhare with a through-ball, much to the delight of the striker as he finished confidently to steal a victory just under 15 minutes from time.
