Swansea City loanee Tammy Abraham has admitted that he turned down Nigeria in order to pursue an international career with England.
The Chelsea striker, who is currently on loan at the Liberty Stadium, recently earned his first call-up to the England squad under Gareth Southgate and has since admitted that he rejected overtures from his parents' country of birth in hope of representing the Three Lions at senior level.
"[Nigeria] did try to roll out the red carpet and it was flattering but I was pretty set on England," said Abraham, according to The Express.
"I see myself as being a long-term England player. That is where my main focus is and I am 100 per cent focused on trying to get into that team."
Abraham could potentially feature for England over the next week, as Southgate's men take on both Germany and Brazil in friendly preparations for next year's World Cup in Russia.
