Nigeria midfielder John Obi Mikel has paid tribute to Joseph Yobo following his landmark 100th appearance for the team.
The Super Eagles captain, who is the country's record appearance holder, made it a century of games last week during the side's 3-2 defeat to Argentina at the World Cup.
Nigeria return to action tonight (Monday) when they face France in the last 16 of the tournament.
"On behalf of the team, we are congratulating Yobo for the 100 caps," Mikel is quoted as saying by allafrica.com. "He remains an inspiration for us in the Super Eagles.
"We wish him more years of appearance for Nigeria. For me personally, I am looking forward to emulating him in the senior national team some day."
Yobo won his first cap for Nigeria back in 2001.
