Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa has claimed that the team must continue to improve if they are to achieve success in the knockout stages of the World Cup.
Musa scored twice as Nigeria suffered a 3-2 defeat to Argentina in their final Group F fixture, and he believes that there has to be more to come from the squad as they prepare to take on France in the last 16 next Monday.
"We were hoping to win the game, we tried our best but couldn't equalize for 3-3," the 21-year-old told SuperSport.
"That is football for you. The most important thing was that we qualified for the second round, which is a great achievement for us.
"We have to work harder, it will not be easy. In the first half they had a lot of opportunities in the middle. So we need to work more on that in the second round."
Nigeria have never reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
