Gillingham extended their lead at the top of League Two after a Romain Vincelot goal gave them a 1-0 win at AFC Wimbledon this afternoon.
Their closest challengers, Port Vale, were beaten 2-0 by Northampton Town. Town took the lead through Alex Nicholls, who was taken to hospital with a broken leg shortly after his goal. His replacement Louis Moult made it two just before half-time and 10-man Vale could not come back.
Bottom club Barnet picked up their second win in three games with a late Mark Byrne penalty giving them the points at Chesterfield.
There were 1-0 wins at home for Accrington Stanley and Burton Albion over Bristol Rovers and Bradford City respectively.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham Town moved into the automatic promotion places, as two Keith Lowe goals helped them to a 3-0 win against Exeter City.
Torquay United moved into the playoff positions courtesy of a 1-0 win over Morecambe, as did Rotherham United, who beat Plymouth Argyle by the same score thanks to a Kieran Agard goal.
York City drew 0-0 away at Southend United, while there were also goalless draws between Rochdale and Fleetwood Town, and Dagenham and Redbridge against Aldershot Town.
Elsewhere Oxford United beat Wycombe Wanderers by three goals to one.
