Norway and Azerbaijan have played a goalless draw in their Euro 2016 qualifier this evening at the Ullevaal Stadium.
The home side were the first to threaten as Alexander Soderland collected a pass from Per Skjelbred on the edge of the box, but he fired his effort wide of the target.
Azerbaijan hit back with a good chance of their own as Badavi Huseynov latched on to a cross at the back post. He drilled an effort towards the bottom corner, only to see his strike go narrowly wide.
Soderlund came close for Norway again as he received the ball inside the penalty area and twisted and turned before firing his strike at goal, but Kamran Arhayev made the save.
Skjelbred created another opening for the hosts just before the break as he picked out Joshua King on the edge of the box, but his shot went just wide of the post.
In the second half, Afran Ismayilov went close for the visitors when he collected the ball on the edge of the box and he drilled a low strike towards goal, but Orjan Haskjold was able to make the stop.
Norway upped the ante late in the game when Magnus Wolff Eikrem threaded the ball through to Adama Diomande in the penalty area, but his strike was saved by Arhayev.
Both teams made a push late in the game to try to earn the three points, but neither could find the breakthrough as both were forced to settle for a point apiece.
