Nottingham Forest chairman Fawaz Al Hasawi has revealed that Steve Clarke, Malky Mackay and Gianfranco Zola are all on his shortlist of managerial candidates.
The Championship outfit are in need of a new coach after they decided to part company with Billy Davies on Monday.
While Neil Warnock and Stuart Pearce have both ruled themselves out of contention, Al Hasawi is targeting ex-Premier League bosses Clarke and Mackay.
Clarke has been out of work since getting dismissed by West Bromwich Albion in December, while Mackay was sacked by Cardiff City in the same month.
Al Hasawi told Sky Sports News that while Clarke and Mackay are on Forest's radar, gardening leave and legal issues have provided the Championship outfit with an issue.
The businessman also claimed that former Watford boss Zola is in the frame, but the Italian is reluctant to join the club before the end of the season.
Despite Al Hasawi writing on Twitter that he was keen to make an appointment by the end of next week, he has stated that he does not want to rush the decision.
