Nottingham Forest have begun talks with Steve Cotterill over their vacant manager's position, according to The Mirror.
Cotterill has reportedly told the Portsmouth board that he would like to join the East Midlands club, and the two parties are now discussing a compensation deal.
The 47-year-old also hopes to bring his current assistant manager Stuart Gray, who played for Forest in the 1980s, to the City Ground.
Cotterill has been in charge at Fratton Park since last year, but has found it difficult to work within the club's tight financial boundaries.
