Nottingham Forest have called time on manager Steve Cotterill's tenure at the City Ground.
The 47-year-old's position at the club has been under threat following the takeover of the outfit by the Al-Hasawi family.
Cotterill met with the club's new owners yesterday and following lengthy talks, the Championship outfit have confirmed that they are in the hunt for a new boss.
A statement on the club's official website said: "The club would like to acknowledge their gratitude to Mr Cotterill for guiding it through an extremely difficult and traumatic period and for retaining the side's Championship status last season."
Reports emerged this morning claiming that former Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has entered the running to become the new coach along with Mick McCarthy and Darren Ferguson.
