Former England manager Glenn Hoddle has become the bookies' favourite to take over at Nottingham Forest this afternoon.
The 56-year-old is now odds-on with William Hill to replace Billy Davies, who was sacked yesterday, at the City Ground.
Former Watford manager Gianfranco Zola and ex-England Under-21 boss Stuart Pearce are joint-second favourites for the post.
Neil Warnock was expected to be named as Davies's successor, but talks broke down last night and he is now thought to be out of the running.
It is almost eight years since Hoddle last had a job in management, at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He has also led Swindon Town, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton.
