Nottingham Forest's winless run has stretched to six games having been held to a goalless draw by Doncaster Rovers at the City Ground.
Jamie Paterson had the first chance of the game after being played in by Simon Cox, before firing wide of the target from 12 yards out.
Shortly after Rovers had a chance of their own through David Cotterill, but the midfielder could not get his strike on target having broken forward.
Cotterill again came close to putting his side ahead, escaping down the left-hand side and cutting into the penalty area, though he dragged his effort wide of the target.
Forest failed to make the most of a double chance with 36 minutes played with Radoslaw Majewski forcing a fine save out of Sam Johnstone, before Cox was denied by a combination of keeper and defenders.
Rovers looked to force the issue in the second half, creating a couple of chances in quick succession. First, Billy Sharp's shot inside the box was well blocked following a dangerous free kick, before James Husband sent in a cross only for Mark Duffy to drag his shot wide.
The hosts looked to have won it late on as Majewski fired in a shot from range, but Johnstone was equal to the effort, palming it over the bar to safety.
