Nuremberg defender Timm Klose has turned down an offer to renew his contract amid rumours of a potential transfer to Wolfsburg.
The Swiss international's current deal runs out next summer and his decision to reject has left chairman Martin Bader disappointed.
"Timm Klose has informed us that he really appreciates the early contract offer and has considered it fully, but has decided not to accept it," Bader told Bundesliga.de.
"We respect Timm's decision, but had hoped that Nuremberg would be his chosen path as we want to retain all our best players."
Klose has been capped six times by the full Switzerland squad.
