Oldham Athletic have completed a double coup today with the signings of Jose Baxter and Matt Derbyshire.
Former Everton striker Baxter was the youngest player to ever represent the Toffees at senior level when he debuted aged 16 years and 191 days.
However, the 20-year-old turned down a new contract at Goodison Park this summer in favour of finding regular first-team football, which may be on offer to him at Boundary Park.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest forward Matt Derbyshire joins on a six-week loan deal, which expires on October 27.
The former England Under-21 international has failed to make an impact at Forest since signing from Birmingham City, while he previously had spells at Blackburn Rovers and Olympiakos.
