Italian legend Alessandro Del Piero is in talks over a move to Greek side Olympiakos, according to his agent.
The 37-year-old left Juventus after 19 decorated years in Turin.
It was believed that he was close to a move to Australia with Sydney FC, and he had even been linked with a move to Southampton.
According to reports in Greece, Del Piero has now been offered a one-year deal worth €2.2m (£1.7m), with an option for a further 12 months.
His agent, and brother, Stefano confirmed that the two parties were in talks.
"At this moment, I can't say anything more than that we are in contact," he said. "Be patient. It's a matter of hours if we see if Alessandro will play for Olympiakos or not."
Del Piero won six Serie A titles with Juventus, as well as two Coppa Italias and one Champions League. He was also part of the Italy team that won the 2006 World Cup.
