La Liga relegation rivals Osasuna and Real Valladolid played out a 0-0 stalemate in Pamplona tonight.
Both teams had picked up four points from their last two matches in their battle against the drop, but only Osasuna showed the courage to strive for victory.
They enjoyed 60% of possession, and registered 15 shots on goal compared to Valladolid's six, but each side only managed one effort on target throughout the contest.
A 25-yard drive from Roberto Torres forced Jaime into a smart stop on 56 minutes, but the midfielder's finishing was otherwise wild, particularly when blazing over the crossbar from a tight angle late on.
It was Valladolid who had the best opening of the game when Javi Guerra smashed his second bite at the cherry straight at Andres Fernandez on 83 minutes, after his initial shot had been blocked.
The result, which was Valladolid's 14th draw of the season, took them two points clear of the relegation zone, while Osasuna are two ahead of them ahead of their match with Valencia next weekend.
