How Paraguay could line up against Uruguay

Sports Mole looks at how Paraguay could line up in their Copa America group match against Uruguay.
Sports Mole

Paraguay have no fresh injury concerns for their final group-stage fixture at this summer's Copa America, but there are expected to be changes from the two-goal success over Chile last time out.

Eduardo Berizzo's side will enter the clash with Uruguay in second spot in Group A, but they would drop to third if they lose their final match in the group stages of the 2021 competition.

There will be alterations from the victory over Chile, with Angel Romero and Alejandro Romero both in line for positions in the final third of the field.

Berizzo will be wary of dropping down to third, though, and is therefore still expected to start some of his key players, including Miguel Almiron, who impressed last time out.

Almiron both scored and provided an assist in the 2-0 win over Chile, and the Newcastle United attacker could again feature just behind Carlos Gonzalez.

Fabian Balbuena could be handed a role in the middle of the back four for Paraguay, with Gustavo Gomez potentially dropping down to the bench.

Santiago Arzamendia is also in line to feature for Berizzo's team, who could select Mathias Villasanti and Angel Cardozo Lucena as the two holding midfielders.

Paraguay possible starting lineup: Silva; Espinola, Balbuena, Alonso, Arzamendia; Villasanti, Lucena; Angel Romero, Almiron, Alejandro Romero; Gonzalez
