An 88th-minute penalty from Erik Bakker snatched Cambuur all three points against PEC Zwolle as they came from behind to win 2-1 in Leeuwarden.
Thomas Lam had given the visitors the lead, but Sander van de Streek struck early in the second half to begin a fightback which Bakker completed from the spot.
Defender Lam popped up with his first goal of the season on 19 minutes when he met a cross from Jesper Drost.
Cambuur could only muster one shot on target in the first period, but improved vastly after the break and equalised when Furdjel Narsingh supplied Van de Streek for his first goal since October on 58 minutes.
Both sides showed the intent to find a winning goal, but the final quarter of an hour was disrupted by a series of fouls which saw five yellow cards brandished and a late penalty awarded to the hosts.
Bakker kept his composure from 12 yards to earn Cambuur a victory which takes them to within three points of third-placed Zwolle in the table, and ends their opponents' three-match winning streak.
