Bologna secured all three points with a 3-2 win in a thrilling encounter with Pescara in Serie A this afternoon.
Both sides were evenly matched in the opening stages of the game, with neither able to really dominate proceedings.
Pescara were given a chance to take the lead on 29 minutes when the referee awarded them a penalty. Vladimir Weiss stepped up and slotted the spot kick home to make it 1-0.
Bologna were then given a penalty on 34 minutes and drew level when Alessandro Diamante put the spot kick past the goalkeeper.
The away side were awarded a second penalty just before half time and took the lead as Gaetano D'Agostino smashed the ball into the back of the net.
Pescara grabbed an equaliser on 50 minutes when Diamante found Alberto Gilardino, who finished well to bring the scores to 2-2.
Panagiotis Kone then restored the lead for the away side, striking well to beat the goalkeeper and make it 3-2.
