League One side Peterborough United have completed the signing of Marcus Maddison from Gateshead for an undisclosed fee.
The 20-year-old attacker, who was released by Newcastle United as a trainee, has agreed a four-year contract at London Road.
"He is a really good player and I really like him. He is a good age, 20 years old [and] fits the bill in terms of what we are after. He has been to Newcastle, gone to Gateshead and done very well," manager Darren Ferguson told the club's official website.
"He has come to our attention, we have had him watched and done our homework and is a very talented boy. He can play on the right, up front, on the left or in the number 10 role. He has two decent feet, but his left foot is definitely better."
Maddison scored four goals in his five outings for Gateshead this season.
