Peterborough United striker Kyle Vassell has expressed his desire to match the achievements of some of his Posh predecessors in working his way up the Football League pyramid.
The 22-year-old, signed from Bishop's Stortford in 2013, is being tipped to be a success at London Road after scoring four goals in five League One games.
Vassell told Sky Sports News: "I just try and do what Dwight Gayle has done – score goals and win games. If I could do the same as him and move up the leagues, I would be buzzing.
"But I haven't come here to emulate him, I've come here to be myself and let the chances and goals take care of themselves.
"If we can win the league, then great. Automatic promotion is an unwritten target."
Gayle, George Boyd, Britt Assombalonga and Craig Mackail-Smith have all gone on to play for teams in the top two tiers of English football after turning out for Peterborough.
