Poland coach Waldemar Fornalik has admitted that his side missed a good opportunity to beat England in Wednesday's 1-1 draw in Warsaw.
The World Cup qualifier between the two teams had been scheduled to take place on Tuesday but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
When play finally got underway 20 hours later, Kamil Glik earned a point for the hosts after Wayne Rooney had given England the lead.
"We were close to a historical victory. It didn't work but we tried," said Fornalik.
"We were even more charged than England last night and they would have had an even tougher time."
The draw has left Poland third in Group H.
