Port Vale have confirmed the signing of West Bromwich Albion youngster Reiss Greenidge on loan until December.
The 18-year-old defender is expected to pen a permanent deal with the League One club when his temporary stay comes to an end.
"The move has been on the cards for about two weeks. I met the chairman, had good talks with him and I then left it to my agent," Greenidge told Vale's official website.
"At the end of last season there were a few big clubs who were supposed to be interested in me, but my aim is to play first-team football instead of going to a big club like that."
The Valiants continue their League One campaign on Saturday with a trip to Fleetwood Town.
