Porto cruised into the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 5-1 aggregate victory over Basel in their last-16 tie this evening.

The match was locked at 1-1 going into tonight's second leg, but goals from Yacine Brahimi, Hector Herrera, Casemiro and Vincent Aboubakar saw Porto through in convincing fashion.

Here, Sports Mole looks at who stood out during a one-sided 90 minutes at the Estadio do Dragao this evening.

PORTO

Goal

Fabiano: Erratic in coming off his line when his defenders looked to have situations under control. One such incident resulted in a horrible collision with Danilo that left the Porto skipper unconscious. Kept a clean sheet and made one or two decent stops, but will be punished if he continues to charge out of his area so recklessly. (6/10)

Defence

Danilo: Lasted just 22 minutes before he was clattered into by Fabiano. The sickening clash left him unconscious before being stretchered into an ambulance and taken to hospital. (6/10)

Maicon: Gave Basel very little joy in the final third at all. Kept the defence firm and led from the front having taken the armband off Danilo. (7/10)

Marcano: Will have busier days, but went about his business well and was rewarded with a relatively comfortable clean sheet. (7/10)

Alex Sandro: Started on the left but switched flanks seamlessly following Danilo's injury. Another part of a sturdy defence while also getting forward to help out in attack. (7/10)

Midfield

Hector Herrera: Curled home a lovely goal to put his side two goals up, which effectively killed the tie off. Helped Porto to a commanding midfield performance. (7/10)

Casemiro: Imperious display in the middle of the park. Broke up numerous attacks and also threatened at the other end with his long-range efforts. Capped off a fine display with the pick of the goals - a 30-yard screamer from a free kick. (8/10)

Evandro: Won't grab the headlines but helped Porto to control the tempo of the match and prevent Basel from getting any momentum going. (6/10)

Attack

Cristian Tello: A little quieter than expected considering he had scored four goals in two games going into this match. Didn't get many chances despite Porto's dominance, but he did cause the defence problems at times. (6/10)

Vincent Aboubakar: Came in for star striker Jackson Martinez and made the hosts forget all about their top scorer and captain. Led the line brilliantly, capping off his performance with a fine goal. (7/10)

Yacine Brahimi: Gave the Basel defence a torrid time out on the left wing. Opened the scoring with a lovely free kick and also provided the assist for the second with some nice individual build-up play. (8/10)

Substitutes

Bruno Martins Indi: Replaced Danilo midway through the first half and put in a strong showing down the left flank. May have earned himself a starting role. (7/10)

Ruben Neves: Introduced for the final 15 minutes in order to give him some experience. A decent cameo from the youngster. (6/10)

Ricardo Quaresma: Showed glimpses of his attacking talent during his 10 minutes on the field, including one fine run down the left wing. (6/10)

BASEL

Goal

Tomas Vaclik: Had to pick the ball out of the back of his own net four times, but each one was a very good strike. He got his hand to two but was not really to blame for any of the goals. (4/10)

Defence

Taulant Xhaka: Had a torrid time of things against Brahimi, struggling to keep tabs on the winger before he was finally handed a reprieve by Brahimi's withdrawal. (4/10)

Fabian Schar: Not the weakest link in his side's defence, but couldn't do much to stem the tide either. A difficult evening for the 23-year-old before he was sacrificed just before the hour for another attacker. (5/10)

Walter Samuel: Has enjoyed a glorious career, but looks to be past it now. Having conceded the penalty in the first leg, he gave away the free kick that led to the opening goal tonight and was then mindlessly sent off in the dying minutes for barging into Aboubakar off the ball. (3/10)

Behrang Safari: Got forward when possible and provided a useful outlet for his side on occasions. However, it was a difficult match to shine in for any Basel defender and he was no different. (5/10)

Midfield

Mohamed Elneny: Barely got near the ball in the middle of the park as Porto dominated that area of the field from start to finish. His name was mentioned once or twice throughout. (4/10)

Fabian Frei: Hauled off shortly after the hour mark following an ineffective showing in the middle of the park. Was run ragged, much like Elneny. (4/10)

Derlis Gonzalez: Got very little joy in an attacking sense and ended up having to spend most of his time tracking Martins Indi. No repeat of his goal from the first leg. (5/10)

Luca Zuffi: Had arguably his side's best chance when he tested the keeper from the edge of the box. Aside from that, was overrun in midfield. (5/10)

Shkelzen Gashi: The top scorer in the Swiss league but failed to take his chance when he fired one just wide at the end of the first half. Perhaps lucky not to be sent off for a first-half elbow. (5/10)

Attack

Marco Streller: Not how he would have wanted his final European match to go. Only had one glimpse of goal late on in a thankless 90 minutes for the veteran, who is retiring at the end of the season. (5/10)

Substitutes

Breel Embolo: Introduced with his side already three goals down as the visitors threw caution to the wind. Could not launch an unlikely comeback. (5/10)

Yoichiro Kakitani: Injected some pace into the Basel attack at long last and carried the ball well, but it was too little too late. (6/10)

Davide Calla: Replaced Gashi with less than 15 minutes remaining and could not make an impact during his short cameo. (6/10)
