Portugal international Hugo Almeida has said that his national side can win Euro 2012 despite being drawn in the 'group of death'.
Almeida, who will not travel to Poland and Ukraine, insists that the best teams do not often reach the final. Rather, whichever teams are in the best form at the right moments rise to the top, according to the Besiktas star.
"I hope Portugal does win the title," he told Goal.com. "We have been close before.
"We are in a difficult group and all the teams in it can finish at the top.
"Whoever is better at a certain moment can win. It does not mean the best teams will reach the finals."
Portugal open Euro 2012 against Germany on Saturday.
