Portugal coach Paulo Bento has expressed his delight following his side's 1-0 victory over the Czech Republic in the quarter-finals of Euro 2012.
Cristiano Ronaldo headed in the winner 11 minutes from time in Warsaw on Thursday to put the Portuguese through to their first semi-final since 2004.
"We did not start the match well in attack for the first 25 minutes," Bento told reporters. "Then we showed a great response in the second half, a great capacity to respond to the Czechs and that is why we really deserved this victory.
"As the game went on, we controlled the match, we played better and had more chances to create our own game."
Bento's side will now face either Spain or France for a place in next month's final.
