Portugal full-back Cedric Soares has claimed that his side deserve their place in the final of Euro 2016.
Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani were enough to fire Portugal to a 2-0 victory over tournament debutants Wales in the semi-final this evening - Portugal's first win inside 90 minutes at this year's competition.
Cedric acknowledged that his side would face a difficult test against either France or Germany, but believes that they are worthy of contesting the showpiece in Paris on Sunday.
"This is all about winning and that's why we're going to Paris. France and Germany are both amazing teams, but we'll prepare the best we can for the final," he is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.
"It's amazing. Incredible to be in the final, it defies description but we've earned this, we deserved the congratulations.
"We were united, focused, but we have to congratulate Wales too, it was the first time they reached the semis, we knew they were a good team but we came out on top."
Portugal will find out their final opponents when hosts France take on world champions Germany on Thursday night.
