Portugal have confirmed their place at Euro 2016 with a 1-0 victory over Denmark in their Group I qualifier in Braga this evening.
Cristiano Ronaldo was presented with the game's first chance, but the Real Madrid forward snatched at a shot from range which bobbled harmlessly into the hands of Kasper Schmeichel.
Nicklas Bendtner then sliced a shot wide with Christian Eriksen standing in space to his side.
Both sides prevented each other from creating any clear-cut chances in the opening half-hour, but a mistake gifted Ronaldo with the ball on the edge of the box in the 33rd minute, although Joao Moutinho blasted his shot over the bar after being teed up.
Nani came close to breaking the deadlock a few minutes before the break, but his looping header bounced off the bar.
Bendtner rattled the outside of the post with a left-footed volley moments after the break, before Ronaldo and Tiago were both thwarted by Schmeichel.
However, Moutinho grabbed the only goal of the game midway through the second half with a powerful strike from range which flew into the top corner.
Bernardo Silva almost made it 2-0 shortly after, but the midfielder couldn't quite wrap his foot around the ball as his effort faded wide.
Portugal defended stoutly in the final 20 minutes to restrict Denmark to hopeful long balls and held on to secure victory.
To avoid a third-place playoff, Denmark now have to hope that Albania do not beat Armenia in their final Group I game on Sunday.
