Valencia midfielder Sergio Canales believes that there is still hope of reaching the last eight of the Champions League despite tonight's 2-1 defeat at home to Paris Saint-Germain.
Goals from Argentine duo Ezequiel Lavezzi and Javier Pastore had put Carlo Ancelotti's men in control at the Mestalla.
However, Adil Rami's 90th-minute strike has reduced the scale of the task that awaits Los Che in Paris.
"It is a bad result for us, but we have hope," Canales told UEFA.com.
"There is still a lot left in this tie and, even though we know it will be difficult, we will look to score early over there to give ourselves a chance."
The second leg takes place at the Parc des Princes in two weeks' time.
