Edinson Cavani scored a late winner to rescue Paris Saint-Germain as they beat APOEL 1-0 in the Champions League this evening.
The hosts had an early chance when George Ephren fed Cillian Sheridan, but the Irishman's effort was straight at Salvatore Sirigu in the PSG goal.
Cavani wasted a good chance on 25 minutes when he produced an air-shot when trying to connect with Lucas Moura's cut-back inside the box.
PSG nearly went behind shortly before the hour mark when Thiago Gomis beat Sirigu with a header, but David Luiz was on hand to clear off the line and spare the Ligue 1 champions' blushes.
Laurent Blanc's side had Luiz to thank once again shortly after when the ex-Chelsea centre-back cleared the danger to stop Sheridan tapping into an empty net.
Nuno Morais then blasted a half-volley high into the stands before Ephren's heavy touch saw a great chance go begging with around 15 minutes remaining.
However, with just under five minutes of normal time remaining, Cavani popped up to convert after a goal-mouth scramble.
