Paris Saint-Germain have booked their place in the last 16 of the Coupe de France courtesy of a 2-1 win over Bordeaux this evening.
The hosts tried their luck with a couple of early efforts from range, but they were made to wait until the 13th minute before finding a way through when Edinson Cavani, back in the side and back among the goals, showed some good movement inside the box to head Lucas Digne's cross into the back of the net.
Ezequiel Lavezzi, another who has been linked with a move away from the Parisians this month, came close to adding a second when he forced a solid save out of Cedric Carrasso, but it mattered little as Javier Pastore was on hand to tap in the rebound from close range.
If not for Carrasso it could have been all but over by the interval, with the stopper managing to push Yohan Cabaye's shot from range wide of the post to just about keep his side in the tie.
That save turned out to be even more important just a minute after the restart as Diego Rolan pulled a goal back for Les Girondins with a neat finish into the bottom corner of the net.
PSG managed to hold off their opponents, although the task was made all the more difficult when Zoumana Camara was shown a second yellow card with a little under 10 minutes remaining, leaving Laurent Blanc's charges looking over their shoulder.
There was to be no dramatic finish in the French capital, however, as PSG saw out the remaining minutes to book their place in the next round.
