Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that it will be difficult for his team to win the Ligue 1 crown.
Montpellier HSC's 1-0 win over Lille means that they hold a three-point advantage over Les Parisiens heading into the final game of the season.
PSG managed to keep pace with the leaders with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Rennes at the Parc des Princes.
The Italian said that qualifying for the Champions League was the team's first objective and still has not given up hope of lifting the title.
"Of course it's going to be very difficult to win the title from here, but it's not over yet," said Ancelotti. "We have reached our objective, to qualify for the Champions League, which was the essential for the club.
"It's not easy joining a club in midseason, but I'm very happy here, I've chosen a very good club with a truly wonderful atmosphere. We're playing for the title. We still have the slightest chance and we'll give it everything.
"If Montpellier finish champions, then well done to them!"
Ancelotti takes his team to Lorient next week, while Montpellier face a trip to relegated Auxerre.
