Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has defended Fabio Capello's decision to resign as manager of England.
Capello sensationally stepped down last week over a difference of opinion with the FA regarding the decision to strip John Terry of the England captaincy.
However, despite the European Championships being just four months away, Ancelotti believes that his fellow Italian made the right decision.
"I agree with Fabio," said the former Chelsea boss.
"The English Football Association took a very quick decision, without consulting their coach.
"For those reasons, I think he did the right thing."
Harry Redknapp remains the clear favourite to succeed Capello in the national team hot seat.
