Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe has admitted that he referred to Neymar as a "bum" in a moment of frustration towards his teammate.

The outburst occurred during Les Parisiens' 2-0 Ligue 1 win over Montpellier HSC last month, during which Mbappe failed to find the back of the net before being hooked for Mauro Icardi in the 88th minute.

Cameras appeared to capture Mbappe saying: "This bum, he never passes to me!" when referring to Neymar, and the 22-year-old has now confirmed that he did speak those words.

During an interview with L'Equipe, Mbappe said: "Yes, yes, I said it. Now these are things which happen all the time in football. It just needs to be something that doesn't linger."

The World Cup winner also confirmed that he asked to leave PSG in the summer amid interest from Real Madrid, and he is expected to complete a free transfer to Los Blancos in 2022.

Mbappe boasts four goals and three assists from nine games in the 2021-22 Ligue 1 season and is currently preparing for France's UEFA Nations League semi-final with Belgium on Thursday. body check tags ::
