Lionel Messi has doubts over Mauricio Pochettino's ability to lead Paris Saint-Germain forward, according to a report.

The Argentine has won the Trophee des Champions and Coupe de France during his short-lived PSG reign so far, and his side sit 11 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

However, Pochettino is yet to win over the entire PSG fanbase, and Messi has struggled to flourish under the tutelage of his compatriot.

Amid links with an early exit for Manchester United-linked Pochettino, L'Equipe claims that Messi has doubts over the ex-Tottenham Hotspur manager's tactical nous.

The report claims that Messi feels Pochettino's style of play is 'too restrictive', and the 49-year-old has also 'lost credit' in the dressing room due to his reluctance to adopt a more stern approach regarding off-the-pitch endeavours.

Messi boasts just four goals from 13 games for PSG across all competitions, and the league leaders could only draw 1-1 with Lens at the weekend.
