Paris Saint-Germain chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has declared that keeping Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains integral to his long-term plans for the French champions.
Ibrahimovic scored 35 goals in all competitions last season, helping PSG win Ligue 1 and reach the Champions League quarter-finals in his debut campaign with the club.
Edinson Cavani's arrival at the Parc des Princes this season has seen some question Ibrahimovic's status in the side, but Al-Khelaifi is adamant that he wants to keep the Swedish striker for many years to come.
He told L'Equipe: "Ibrahimovic is the soul of the club, just like Thiago Silva and now Edinson Cavani.
"He is a key element of PSG. Keeping him here as long as possible is very important."
The 31-year-old has scored once in six appearances so far this season, helping Laurent Blanc make an unbeaten start to life in the French capital.
