PSV Eindhoven have succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of rivals Ajax in this afternoon's Eredivisie clash at the Philips Stadion.
The hosts were quickest off the starting blocks, Memphis Depay bearing down on goal in the 15th minute before seeing his shot saved by Jasper Cillessen.
Ajax rallied round, however, and after Arkadiusz Milik's free kick went just wide in the 26th minute, the Amsterdam giants took the lead on the half-hour mark.
A good cross into the box from Anwar El-Ghazi fell towards Ricardo Kishna, who got the better of Santiago Arias before blasting a shot towards goal. Jeroen Zoet got a touch to the ball but it wasn't enough to prevent the goal.
Midway through the second half, PSV equalised when Luuk de Jong rose emphatically in the box to nod the ball past Cillessen.
With seven minutes to play, however, Ajax were back in front when Lasse Schone's free kick deflected off the wall and soared into the corner of the goal.
And in the final stages of the game, the visitors made sure of all three points when El-Ghazi broke into the PSV box and curled home.
Despite securing bragging rights against one of their biggest rivals, second-placed Ajax remain 11 points behind league leaders PSV.
