PSV Eindhoven sealed a comfortable 2-0 victory against FC Twente at the Philips Stadion this afternoon to climb back to the top of the Eredivisie table.
The hosts made the brighter start in the game, with Luciano Narsingh volleying the ball into the hands of Sonny Stevens after just four minutes.
In the 20th minute, it was Luuk de Jong's turn to threaten following a miscued pass that was intercepted, but his subsequent shot also flew straight at the Twente goalkeeper.
The deadlock was broken just a minute later, with De Jong heading home following a Jetro Willems corner.
On the stroke of half time, Philip Cocu's charges doubled their lead when Georgino Wijnaldum fired past Stevens following more good work from Narsingh.
PSV continued their good work following the restart, as Memphis Depay picked up Willems's ball before firing just wide in the 55th minute.
Twente were unable to threaten their opponents throughout the remainder of the second half as the hosts claimed all three points with ease.
The result means that PSV climb back to the summit of the table, after Ajax had temporarily unseated them following their 3-1 win against Utrecht earlier on Sunday.
