Queens Park Rangers director of football Les Ferdinand has revealed that the appointment of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as the club's new manager was a "unanimous" decision.
The former Chelsea striker was named as QPR's new boss on a 12-month rolling contract last week.
The Championship club had been hunting for a new manager since the start of November after sacking Chris Ramsey.
"We went through a thorough process," Ferdinand told reporters. "We were unanimous that Jimmy was the man to take us forward.
"Jimmy has earned his stripes at Burton Albion. I'm confident he will do that too at QPR. We've got a team capable of challenging for promotion to the Premier league. I'd be lying if that wasn't the aim."
The team are currently 12th in the league table.
