Queens Park Rangers have signed German striker Sebastian Polter from Mainz 05 for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old, who has signed a three-year contract at Loftus Road, scored 14 goals in 29 German second-tier appearances on loan at Union Berlin last season.
"He's a player who has been under the radar a little bit, and our scouts have done a good job in identifying him," R's head coach Chris Ramsey told the club website. "I am really looking forward to working with him.
"He fits the description of what we need for the Championship, he's got a good goalscoring record and looks a very good player.
"He reminds me of a Bobby Zamora of a few years ago, and if he can emulate anything like Bobby achieved here, that will be brilliant for the club."
Polter is QPR's fifth signing of the summer since their relegation back down to the Championship.
