Queens Park Rangers are reportedly planning to offer midfielder Joey Barton a way out of the club by allowing the former captain to leave the club on a free transfer.
The 29-year-old is believed to have sparked controversy within the West London club by accusing the Premier League outfit of poor treatment after he was stripped from the captaincy and lost his number 17 shirt.
It is understood that the former Championship outfit will meet with the Liverpool-born midfielder in the next 24 hours to discuss a free transfer, according to Sky Sports News.
The former Newcastle United player's future at Loftus Road first came into question when he was hit with a 12-match ban for two separate acts of violent conduct during the R's final game of last season against Manchester City.
Barton has expressed his desire to leave the club via social network site Twitter and has claimed that his "heart" is already set on a move to Ligue 1 side Marseille.
