Chris Ramsey has insisted that Queens Park Rangers would have to be offered "top dollar" to let Charlie Austin leave during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old has scored 15 goals in 25 appearances for QPR this season, leading to speculation that he could move elsewhere at the end of the campaign.
The head coach told The Express: "When somebody sparkles at bigger or smaller clubs there's always going to be people in there to poach them or to buy them and make their clubs better. So we would be foolish not to be worried we're going to lose him.
"We hope we don't and we're glad he has performed in a way that other teams are trying to secure his services. He's one of the top strikers, it's not my decision whether he stays or goes, but any top striker always goes for top dollar."
QPR travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.
