Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp has played down speculation linking his side with moves for Robbie Keane and Tim Cahill.
Redknapp is hoping to add to his side in January as he looks to avoid relegation this season.
It has been suggested that QPR will make loan moves for LA Galaxy forward Keane and former Everton midfielder Tim Cahill, who now plies his trade with New York Red Bulls. However, despite admitting that they would improve his side, Redknapp has dismissed the talk.
"To bring somebody in like Robbie and Timmy Cahill for a loan and you're talking about six weeks and then you lose them it makes it difficult," said the 65-year-old.
"They'd improve any team. They're fantastic pros and great players.
"They're interesting players but only short-term loans. There's no point in losing them when we're in a relegation battle."
QPR face West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup third round this afternoon.
