Queens Park Rangers boss Neil Warnock has revealed that he is unlikely to bring in a new frontman in the January transfer window.
The West London side have been linked with a move for Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe. However, the former Crystal Palace manager has hinted that the Premier League side will be focusing on reinforcing other areas of the field.
"I was speaking to [Tony Fernandes] in Malaysia, and I've told him what my thoughts are," said Warnock. "You give me £5m to buy a striker, and I don't think I could get much better than [Heidar] Helguson.
"So I think you've got to be careful - sometimes January is not the right time. I need players in [other] areas that I'll try to get."
Helguson is Rangers' top scorer with a record of six goals so far this season.
